The City of Dryden is seeking a self-motivated, dedicated and proactive Health and Safety Coordinator to join our Human Resources Department. Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, the Health and Safety Coordinator will work closely with the management team to implement the City’s safety programs, comply with regulatory requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.
Key responsibilities include supporting the development, implementation and maintenance of health and safety policies, procedures and standard operating guidelines. Regularly conduct site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and ensure corrective actions are taken. Coordinate Health & Safety programs including the coordination of workplace inspections, joint health and safety committees and the development, delivery and evaluation of health and safety training programs and initiatives. This position will also provide guidance and training to staff on safety practices and emergency procedures. Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and safety violations, and prepare reports with recommendations for corrective actions.
