KAREN LUCILLE KUJANSUU
February 1, 1944 – June 16, 2019
With great sorrow Karen’s family shares the news of her passing.
Karen fought many a battle and managed to rally when others would have succumbed. This was her final battle and she fought bravely to the end.
Karen leaves to mourn Ron, her loving husband of 54 years, her three children – Warren (Chantale), Theresa (Ron), and Trent (Jolie). Also left to mourn are her precious grandchildren, Whitney, Tyler, Mariange, Teagan (Josh), Tanner, Chase (Skylar), Tereva, Kayden and Jinessa along with her great grandchild, Easton.
Also mourning this loss are Karen’s siblings, Barry (Diane) Young, Sandra (Chris) Winspear, Heather (Gerry) Moore and Jeff (Darlene) Young along with her many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Karen was predeceased by her parents Ralph and Ida Young and her foster grandchildren Sammy and Dannielle.
Karen has said that she lived a good life, having the privilege of watching all of her kids grow into adulthood and then having the joy of watching her grandchildren and great grandchild flourish as they grew up.
Karen was always hard working and worked hard over her lifetime. After much cajoling she finally retired in 2016. These later years she enjoyed her time with her peers and friends at the Happy Go Lucky Seniors Club. Karen enjoyed her backyard and many an afternoon sat out back with Ron and their tea enjoying her flowers.
Karen was an amazing mother and wife. She always put her family first.
She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
The family would like to acknowledge Dr. Yvon Gagnon. He went above and beyond for our mom and it is deeply appreciated.
Thank you also to the Doctors and Nurses for their care at the DRHC as well as the ambulance attendants.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Karen’s life will take place at the Vermilion Bay Lions Hall on July 21st, 2019 at 11:00 am with Rev. Tony Thompson officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
If family and friends so desire donations can be made in her memory to the Machin Medical Clinic through the Dryden Community Funeral Home, 249 Grand Trunk Avenue, Dryden, ON P8N 2X3
