Tbaytel continues to expand in northwestern Ontario.
After establishing a fibre optic network in Dryden and Fort Frances, the company is now looking at Kenora.
President Dan Topatigh says they will be working to install the fibre optic cable in the next few months.
Topatigh notes conditions for construction at a community that has a lot of rocks has a lot of challenges, noting this will be a multi-million dollar investment.
He says the goal is to have Kenora on-line in 2019 and Keewatin on board in 2020.
Topatigh says with the new system, they will be able to bundle as many as five different services with everything from Internet, television, landline telephones, and home security.
He adds speeds will be at least ten times faster than current services.
