In Loving Memory of Susan May Ewen
September 11, 1954 – November 28, 2024
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Susan May Ewen, who departed this world surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 11, 1954, in Geraldton, Ontario, Susan was the cherished daughter of Thelma (“Tiny”) and Victor Berglund.
Her family later moved to Vermilion Bay, where Susan attended Vermilion Bay Public School and graduated from Dryden High School. On September 16, 1972, she married her soulmate and lifelong partner, Roger, sharing 52 years of love and devotion.
Susan was the proud and beloved mother of Dean (Allison) and Douglas (Natalia), a doting grandmother to Danica, Tristan, and Kiddo, and a great-grandmother to Hailey. She was a dear sister to Linda and Lee-Anne and was predeceased by her brother Philip and sister Valerie. Susan also leaves behind her cherished extended family, including Robert, Pamela (Paul), Kevin (Tyla), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Over 20 years ago, Susan and her family relocated to London, Ontario. She dedicated over 24 years to her career at TNT before transitioning to CEVA and eventually retiring in 2023. Susan was known for her enduring friendships, offering a helping hand and a listening ear to all in need.
A woman of great warmth and hospitality, Susan loved preparing Halloween candy bags for trick-or-treaters and hosting family Christmas gatherings, where her home was always filled with laughter and love. She enjoyed cross-stitching and creating treasured keepsakes with meticulous care. Above all, her family was her greatest pride and joy. She united them with her boundless love and support.
Cremation has taken place, and a small gathering will be held at the family home on Sunday, December 8th, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for those wishing to pay their respects. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Diabetes Foundation or a charity of your choice in honor of Susan’s generous spirit.
Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
