The Alternative Secondary School Program (ASSP) offers standard Ontario secondary school curriculum, cultural programming (cultural credits), promotes Indigenous student success, and provides an alternative learning environment for Indigenous learners wishing to obtain their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).  The cultural curriculum component allows for students to be introduced to a different way of learning, through an Indigenous pedagogical model which encourages critical thinking, innovative problem-solving and independence.

Qualifications – All Positions:

• Post-secondary degree/diploma in Social/Human Services, Indigenous Studies or equivalent training combined with relevant work experience
• Clean/Valid Ontario Drivers License & access to a vehicle
• Ability to speak, read & write an indigenous language an asset
• Must be able to provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check
• Provide or able to obtain First Aid/CPR, WHMIS & Safe Food Handling Certification
• Participate in training as required.
