The city is moving ahead with a potential ban on the use of deicers or bubblers on lakes within Dryden.
It is stemming from a dispute around Thunder Lake and concerns over the practice limits activity on frozen water and poses a danger to wildlife.
Some property owners along the water use deicers to protect their docks or boathouses during the winter months.
The city voted on Monday night to have staff look at drafting a bylaw on banning deicers.
The issue was first brought to council in June and will return for further consideration at another meeting.
