The Dryden Public Library has outlined its benefit to the community.
The library released details of its most recent Social Return on Investment.
Library CEO Caroline Goulding says it’s broken down into categories, and the valuation is significant.
“So, in 2023, the Dryden Public Library benefited the community by $320 per resident and $713 per household,” Goulding explained during a presentation to Dryden city council this week.
“For every dollar invested by the city, the community received $4.14 in benefit.”
Goulding adds the Social Return on Investment looks at a number of different areas to determine the value to the community.
“Entertainment and Leisure, which includes recreational circulation, so all of our fiction collection, adult and seniors programming and library membership, was $1.2 million. Economic Development, which was employment, training and development, and self-generated revenue was $497,000.”
Goulding says the Social Return on Investment shows a return of over $2.3 million overall for the community.
