Maria Adriana Aguiar Ferreira nee Cabral
September 5, 1952 – August 5, 2024
Adriana Aguiar (nee Cabral) passed away peacefully at the Dryden Regional Health Centre on Monday August 5th surrounded by her family at the age of 71 after many years of struggling with health issues.
Adriana was born in the city of Ponta Delgada on the biggest Portuguese Azores Island, São Miguel.
Adriana is predeceased by her father and mother Manuel and Conceição, and her loving husband John Aguiar.
She is survived by her daughter Victoria, husband Tyler and their children Paiton and Gage, who are all going to miss her like crazy! She will also be greatly missed by many family members especially her brothers Carlos Cabral, Joe (Maria) Cabral, Luis (Heather) Cabral, and her sisters Isabel Vertentes and Fatima Cabral, nieces, nephews, cousins, brother and sister in laws, great nieces and nephews, friends, and many more.
She moved to Canada young to marry the love of her life John and we feel peace and comfort in knowing they are together again.
Although she loved going back to Portugal for trips and visits, she always said that Canada was her true home. They lived in Dryden all their lives and loved the outdoors spending lots of time with family and friends fishing, camping and snowmachining.
Adriana was the sweetest, kindest, loving, most beautiful soul. Anybody who met her felt truly blessed to have known her. She was always thinking and worried about others before herself. She loved her family and friends so much and loved being with them. She was also very well known for her cooking and baking, especially her famous cheesecake! She loved watching The Young and the Restless (which is actually where she got Victoria’s name from), the Food Network and never missed The Price is Right. She helped her daughter raise her children and spent so much time with them. She always called them “her babies”. She was a very faithful woman and it showed in her last few days of life as all she wanted to do was “go home to God”. Now she may spread her beautiful wings and sore.
We want to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff in each department who cared for Adriana at the Dryden Regional Health Centre over the years.
A Traditional Funeral Service will take place on Friday, August 9, 2024, at 1pm at the Dryden Community Funeral Home with Father Alan Campeau officiating. Interment to follow at the Dryden Cemetery.
