After a fairly quiet week on the forest fire front, five new blazes were reported on Sunday.
All were small in size but still listed as not under control as of last night.
Three were burning around the Pickle Lake area.
Another was near the Greenstone Regional Airport in Geraldton.
The forest fire hazard is a mix of low to extreme.
Low to moderate hazard in the western regions, with some scattered pockets of high hazard through the Red Lake, Sioux Lookout and Thunder Bay sectors.
The Greenstone area is showing a mostly high hazard with a zone of extreme hazard along the central, eastern border.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry reminds people to practice firework safety during the firework season.
