The life of Arthur Irving will be celebrated during a private gathering on the weekend.
Irving died from cancer on Monday in Boston.
Tributes have been sent from near and far for the long-time businessman and philanthropist.
They included notes from the prime minister, premiers, the business community and various universities in Atlantic Canada, many of which bear his name on campus.
The gathering will take place at his home in Saint John on Saturday.
Donations may be made to the Mass General Cancer Care Center.
Irving was 93.
