Multiple assault charges have been laid in Dryden.
Early Saturday morning, Ontario Provincial Police officers and EMS were sent to the scene of an assault.
Upon arrival, one person was found and transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The suspect however had already left the area.
A short time later, officers located the suspect and subsequently placed them under arrest. During the arrest and processing, the individual became violent with officers leading to minor injuries.
As a result, a 19-year-old, from Dryden has been arrested and charged with:
- Aggravated Sexual Assault
- Assault With a Weapon
- Aggravated Assault
- Assault a Peace Officer – five counts
- Resist Peace Officer
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora at a later date.
