Despite recent cool and damp weather, the month of April was actually pretty normal.
The daily mean temperature was 3.8 degrees last month, just above the average which is 2.6.
Geoff Coulson from Environment Canada says even though we are starting May with cool weather, that should change later in the month.
“In the longer term for the whole month of May, some of the models indicating conditions a little bit warmer than normal,” predicts Coulson.
“So we may see a warm up as we get further into the month of May, but at least in terms for the first week or so, those temperatures staying just below normal for this time of year.”
In terms of precipitation, we received 26.8 millimeters in the form of rain and snow last month.
That still below the average of 35.1 millimeters.
