Grace Lydia June Baron
Gracie passed away suddenly, with her soulmate Ryan holding her hand, while vacationing in New Zealand.
Gracie is survived by her father Daniel (Denise) Baron, her mother
Margaret Aitken (Tom Williams), siblings Emma and Ranger Baron, Ryan’s parents Jim and Theresa Gee, his siblings Steven (Rebecca) Gee, Danielle Gee, and Eric (Janessa) Gee, grandparents, cousins of both families, and many friends who loved her very much.
Gracie was five when she told us a joke where the chicken crossed the road because it had a ladder in its pants. We laughed, then Gracie proceeded into a long monologue with a straight face and the confidence of a seasoned comedian, while we had to pull the vehicle over because we were in tears from howling laughter. That day Gracie learned about the power of being funny to the joy and benefit of us all. While now we grieve with pain and sorrow, memories of Gracie will soon have us grieve with love.
Her youngest years were spent as a country bumpkin, hiking bush trails, building forts, and playing legos with Emma and Ranger as they were homeschooled for the first few primary grades. Soon enough she attended St Joseph’s Catholic School in the French immersion program. At Dryden High School she was an honour student, and she was also recognized as a talented maker by her Tech teacher. Then Gracie headed to Toronto to have a blast living with her girlfriends while furthering her education. At George Brown College she received her Prosthetics Technician Diploma and met the love of her life.
Ryan and Grace graduated together and headed to Calgary, working in their field helping to improve people’s lives everyday. Looking for new adventures in 2023, they acquired Australian visas which took them to Melbourne where they were residing.
Throughout her life’s journey, Gracie remained the happiest person with the world’s greatest smile. Our beautiful Gracie was funny, witty, and silly. She hated to be bored and here are just a few things she did so that she wasn’t:
Tap danced
Volunteered at Dryden Veterinary Clinic because she loved dogs so much
Played soccer
Made jewelry
Learned to play the drums
Acted in community theatre productions
Played Junior Eagles volleyball
Watched fave movies over and over and over
Worked every position at Pizza Hut just to experience them all
Drove a stick shift
Rode her bike all over in Toronto traffic
Went on a first date with Ryan to a Pug Grumble
Took improv classes
Financed her own way thru college
Worked as a Barista
Hiked all over Alberta and Australia
Learned to throw hatchetts
Climbed rock walls
Went camping
Played softball
Became a weaver
Did woodworking
Practiced gardening
Read many books
Wrote a journal
Shaved her head
Played spikeball
Loved live music
Much gratitude to the people of Taupo, New Zealand who created a shrine of flowers, and provided all the support anyone could wish for to help Ryan and friend Kelsey Pennanen who were holidaying with Grace.
