The Town of Sioux Lookout is embarking on a new Community Improvement Plan.
This includes downtown beautification including improvements to business facades and landscaping.
Economic Development Officer Jennifer Esposito says part of the CIP is targeted towards housing.
“There is one grant that is available for the residential, and that is specifically for people who might want to add on a unit on either their existing commercial building or on their residential property,” explains Esposito.
Otherwise, Esposito says the CIP covers some of the basics of downtown beautification.
“The rest of the grants are for things like facade improvements, for renovations for commercial sites, for improved signage, for landscaping…things like that.”
The deadline to apply is June 21st and Esposito says town council will makes decision on the CIP grants at their next meeting after that.
