The Dryden Fall Fest is coming back this year.
The city is making application to the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund for $15,000 to help out.
Jason Boyer is the manager of Community Services and says the Fall Fest has a big impact on the community.
“Projected $1.7 million dollars through the economic impact that it has for the City of Dryden, and that’s through the Tourism Regional Impact Model,” Boyer told city council this week.
Boyer the overall budget for planning the Fall Fest is just over $63,000.
“It has a significant impact on our community. They’ve already received funding through the DTTA (Dryden Trailblazer Tourism Association). A committed contribution of $35,000 and they are looking for us to put a funding application for them for the $15,000 as well”.
The Dryden Fall Fest will be held again on October 1st, 5th, 19th and 26th.
(Editors note: the Dryden Fall Fest was identified as the Dryden Fall Fair in an earlier post. Information in this article has been corrected.)
