The City of Dryden confirms its going after funding for infrastructure improvements at the Eagles’ Landing Golf Course.
Manager of Community Services Jason Boyer says they’ve made application to the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund.
“With $500,000 being covered by the NOHFC grant, so we’re hopefully working on a split for the municipal portion, maybe with the DTTA (Dryden Trailblazer Tourism Association,” Boyer told council in his monthly report.
“I’m reaching out to them and asking them for their support with the project as well. So its in the books anyways and we’re hoping we can go forward with that.”
The total project comes in at $678,000 with the municipality contributing $178,000.
Infrastructure funding for the golf course was one of the sticking points this week for the municipal budget.
If city council had approved the 4.3 percent increase, there would be no money in the budget for the capital works at the municipally-owned golf course.
