A consultant has identified three key areas in Dryden’s Economic Development and Tourism Strategy.
Clark Hoskin is with Deloitte and says developing land in the municipality is very important to attracting new business.
“The idea of trying to incentivize and get those vacant properties developed is an important action in this strategic area,” Hoskin told Dryden City council recently.
A key part, according to Hoskin, is to ensure there is adequate housing for staff for those new businesses.
Hoskin adds that improving the visitor experience is also key.
“Waterfront development and helping to revitalize the downtown core that’s very important for making the city an attractive place to visit. Trail infrastructure and other types of projects that could be there to help push more visitor spending in the area.”
Other sectors and topics of focus include housing, mining, and making sure city land is development ready.
