A mixed bag of results in the most recent EQAO standardized test results for grade 3, grade 6, grade 9 and grade 10 students.
At the Kenora Catholic District School Board grade 3 students achieved higher than the provincial average in math, writing, and reading.
It was a different story in grade 6 where students achieved lower than the provincial average.
In the math scores, just 30 percent met the provincial standard, compared to 50 percent at the provincial level.
In terms of grade 9 math, students at St. Thomas Aquinas achieved higher than the provincial average, but only 80 percent completed the Secondary School Literacy test needed to graduate.
The provincial average was 85 percent.
Over at the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board, results were below the provincial average in all categories including the grade 3, 6, 9 and OSSLT scores.
In grade 3, math results were 48 percent, compared to the provincial average of 60 percent.
In reading it was 58 percent locally and 73 percent provincially and writing was 56 percent for KPDSB schools and 65 percent at the provincial level.
In grade 6, math was at 35 percent and 50 percent provincially.
Reading and writing were closer to the provincial level with 76 percent in each category, compared to 84 percent respectively.
In the grade 9 math test, the achievement level was 31 percent, while the provincial mark was 54 percent.
In the OSSLT, KPDSB 71 percent of students completed the test, and it was at 85 percent provincially.
Results for the Northwest Catholic District School Board are not available yet.
