Bryan Hill
January 22, 1932 – September 4, 2023
We are saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Bryan, on September 4, 2023, at the Dryden Regional Health Centre with his family by his side.
Bryan was born on January 22, 1932, in Morris, Manitoba to his parents Sara and Albert Hill.
Bryan grew up in Morris, Manitoba and moved to Camp Robinson at the age of 16. He worked at Mando where he met his life partner Nora Laforrest. They married on June 1, 1954, and began their life together.
They lived in Camp Robinson where they owned the General Store and Bryan worked in the Forestry industry. They had 4 children together.
Bryan and his family moved to Dryden in 1966 where he continued his career and raised his family. He then went back to school, became a heavy equipment mechanic and continued to work for Great Lakes in Dryden. He retired in 1998, where he lived on his farm with his family.
Bryan loved the outdoors. He worked on his hobby farm and had a trapline that he worked in the winter and spring months.
Bryan loved his family and friends unconditionally and always had time for a cup of coffee with them. He was known for his great sense of humour and his huge boisterous laugh. He also enjoyed hearing everyone’s stories and adventures they had.
Bryan is survived by his wife Nora of 69 years, 3 daughters; Linda Hill- Borton (Jim), Valerie Hill-Walmark (Dave), and Karen Hill, grandchildren; Christopher (Jackie), Zane, Nova, Zeb, Stephen, Jamie Lee (Steve), and Julie, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, 3 siblings: Margaret, Wilbert, and Ida, and his son Perry.
Bryan’s family would like to thank everyone for their on-going support. This has been very appreciated.
A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Dryden Community Funeral Home with Alice Bloomfield officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dryden Cemetery.
