A few items on the agenda tonight in Dryden.
City Council will meet early tonight at City Hall, likely due to yesterday’s holiday, at 5:45 p.m. The night will start off with a closed-door meeting and an update on benefit negotiations, opening up to the public afterwards.
President of the Dryden GM Ice Dogs, Mike Sveinson, is expected to join Natasha Lovenuk as they request support with dressing room renovations at the Dryden Memorial Arena, as well as provide an update on the Ice Dogs’ ongoing book project to commemorate the franchise’s storied history.
BDO is later expected to present audited financial statements for year-end of 2022.
The city will also be announcing details on a Zoning By-Law amendment for 4 lots on Mary Avenue, as well as provide an update on a possible 24-unit apartment complex on Cecil Avenue after some concerns were brought to the city earlier this month.
Council will then take a look at a by-law change which would allow food trucks to operate on public property, with the city noting they’ve seen an increase in the interest of food truck businesses wanting to operate in Dryden.
Other items on the agenda including declaring 4 lots at the end of Swanson Street as surplus, a slight budget amendment and Councillor Kiewning’s motion to Endorse Bill 5.
