Police in Dryden have seized numerous drugs after two arrests were made in an ongoing drug investigation in the community.
Police say a traffic stop on April 18 on Government Street led to the arrest of two individuals, and the seizure of weapons and drugs including cocaine, methamphetamine, hydromorphone and morphine. Canadian currency and drug trafficking paraphernalia were also seized.
A search warrant was also executed on a Third Avenue residence in Dryden, with the assistance from the Sioux Lookout and Red Lake OPP, as well as Treaty Three Police.
As a result, a 29-year-old from Dryden is facing charges of:
– Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine,
– Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine,
– Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Morphine,
– Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Hydromorphone,
– Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000,
– Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose,
The accused was held for bail and was released by the Ontario Court of Justice with a return date of May 1 to speak to the charges.
As well, a 30-year-old from Dryden is facing charges of:
– Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine,
– Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine,
– Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Morphine,
– Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Hydromorphone,
– Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000,
– Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose,
– Failing to comply with conditions of a release order,
The OPP say the accused has been remanded into custody and will appear in court on April 24.
