In the SIJHL over the weekend, the Sioux Lookout Bombers split their games against the Fort Frances Lakers.
The Bombers doubled up the Lakers 4-2 Saturday night.
That followed up on a 3-2 win in overtime on Friday night by Fort.
The Red Lake Miners and the Thunder Bay North Stars also split their games.
The North Stars got by the Miners 5-2 Saturday night, but were shaded 6-5 by Red Lake Friday night.
The Dryden GM Ice dogs lost their only game on the weekend, dropping a 5-3 decision to the Wisconsin Lumberjacks Saturday night.
It will be the Dryden Eagles and the St. Thomas Aquinas Saints in the NorWOSSA girls hockey final.
The Saints beat the Fort Frances Muskies in a 10 player shootout last night to win the best-of-three semifinal series in two straight.
The game was tied at 1-1 after regulation time.
The Eagles also downed the Sioux North Warriors in two straight.
The first game of the NorWOSSA final will be played in Dryden on Wednesday, March 1st at 4:00.
Beaver Brae’s senior boys basketball team fell to the St. Ignatius Falcons in the NWOSSA final in two straight games.
The Falcons won the games handily 107-34 yesterday and 109-32 Friday night.
St. Ignatius will now represent northwestern Ontario at the OFSSA championships next month in Timmins.
