For the second year in a row, the Experimental Lakes Area is offering an undergraduate bursary for a university student.
Pauline Gerrard is deputy director of the ELA and says the David Schindler Bursary is worth $2,000.
“We are looking forward to inspiring young people from northwestern Ontario, or really across Canada, although to be honest, we’d love to give this award to a local northwestern Ontarian in field research, in biology,” says Gerrard.
“They work out at ELA for the summer, but they also get an additional award of $2,000 in addition to what they would get for their salary. They are paid like a student and we normally hire between 10 and 15 students every year.”
The March 17th is the deadline to apply for a scholarship for undergraduate students
