The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board continues to lag behind the provincial average when it comes to standardized testing.
They show local students are anywhere from 5% to 20% below the provincial average.

“Our staff is already working on specialized programming in literacy to ensure that we can catch back up. Our students to literacy spaces that are really important. They are also working on math learning labs and math plans to get our kids caught back up.”
Radbourne adds, “Tutoring supports in place. We have many things that we started last year that we will be continuing this year to continue to help students catch up as well as supporting parents.”
The Grade 3, 6, reading, writing and math, as well as Grade 9 math and Grade 10 literacy tests were conducted back in June, the first time they were administered in three years.
