Food banks in Dryden and Sioux Lookout are receiving additional financial support heading into the holidays.
They have both received $250 to support operations and put food on the table for those in need.
The money comes from the Northwest Unit of the Ontario English Catholic Teacher’s Association.
Officials state none of our communities are exempt from hardship and poverty and the unit pledges that it will continue to be ally in the fight against poverty and inequality.
The OECTA is a local labour union representing over 100 permanent and occasional members from Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Atikokan, Fort Frances, and Stratton.
Those three communities also received a $250 donation.
