No worries for the Dryden GM Ice Dogs in their first game away from home.
The offence came to life in a 9-2 thrashing of Fort Frances Friday night.
The visiting team exploded for 4 goals in the third to put the game away against the Lakers and former Dryden GM Coach Paul McLean.
The Ice Dogs outshot Fort Frances 50-30 with Eric Clark picking up the victory.
It was a balanced attack in the win with Jordan Pfoh and Easton Debray each recording a pair of goals.
Brandon Melsness, James Hooton, Ty Moore, Landon Stromme and Brady Frattinger added singles.
In other action, the Sioux Lookout Bombers suffered their first loss in franchise history in a hard fought 5-3 set-back to visiting Thunder Bay.
This despite the Bombers outshooting the North Stars 40-21.
Jake Manners recorded the loss in net.
Scoring for Sioux Lookout included Tyler Decoff, Owen Riffel and Logan James.
In Red Lake, Holden Woodcroft scored 2:29 into overtime to give Kam River a dramatic 6-5 win over the Miners.
The Fighting Walleye scored four goals in a three minute span midway through the third period to erase a 5-1 deficit.
Before the comeback, Kyle Schechtel, Aaron Bertshinger, Jacob Lamoureaux, Quintyn Sidaway and affiliate player Evan Maslack scored for the Miners.
Jaxson Taupert stopped 32 shots in the loss.
All six teams will be back at it Saturday in Sioux Lookout, Cochenour and Fort Frances at 7:30 pm.
