A reminder that it is illegal to remove, damage or tamper with Municipal Election candidate signs.
This comes from the Provincial Police now that more and more signs are starting to surface around time.
If someone is caught they could face criminal charges including theft of mischief.
Constable Brittany Bembeneck notes most signs are on private property and you can be charged with trespassing as well.
She is encouraging members of the public to report any case of tampering 1-888-310-1122.
The CKDR Newsroom has also received calls recently of people removing anti-nuclear repository signs from private property.
Bembeneck stresses the same charges apply to those who are caught.
