Shirley Priscella Purchase (nee Woodland)
July 11, 1941 – September 11, 2022
A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 1 p.m. at the New Life Church with David Woodland officiating.
Shirley Priscella Purchase (nee Woodland) gained her angel’s wings on Sunday, September 11, 2022, with her family by her side. Shirley was born in Greenspond, Newfoundland on July 11, 1941 where she resided until 1951 when the family moved to Buchans, NL. Shirley lived in Buchans, NL and Winnipeg, MB but resided in Ignace, Ontario upon her passing. On December 30, 1965 Shirley married the love of her life, Brymer, with whom she shared almost 57 wonderful years together. Shirley was loved by everybody she met and was a friend to many. She was involved with the Ignace School Loonie Lunch program for a number of years where she had a close relationship with so many of the students and staff. She was a member of the Ignace New Life church until her health prevented her from attending. Shirley was a follower of The Salvation Army CBS Sunday services which she watched online every Sunday.
Shirley leaves to mourn her husband, Brymer and her daughter, Roxanne Cox (Ralph) of Ignace, grandsons Joshua Tilley (Emily) of Winnipeg, MB, and Jordan Tilley (Jeanine) of Red Lake, Ontario, great grandchildren, Jackson and Amelia, as well as her brothers, Frazer (Glenys), Albert (Kathleen), David (Gloria) and her sister, Donna Taylor (Michael) and their sons, Steven and Justin and their families with whom she had a very special relationship. She also leaves to mourn numerous nieces and nephews, her very special friends, Flo Ryan and Betty Cull. Shirley was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Lucinda (nee Oakley), sisters, Ada, Annie, Bernice and Alice, and her brother, Charlie.
