Dryden Dortmund has captured the Sioux Lookout Men’s Soccer League title.
Dortmund defeated the Sioux Lookout Pelicans 2-1 in the championship game.
Nelson Pimou opened the scoring early to give the Pelicans the lead but Dryden goaltender Tanner Montgomery shut the door from there to cap a strong season in net.
Grant Valiquette and Kris Kondra would score in the second half for the victory.
The win was preserved with a last minute game saving play by central midfielder Tristan Ilko.
Team officials say the future is bright for the Dortmund squad with 5 rookies to men’s league on the roster.
They note Kael Springett, Karstin Smith, Gage Lancaster, Emmerson Moir and Cash Lappage all played important minutes for the Dryden squad in the final game of the season.
