Hollywood actor and producer Tony Dow has died. He was 77.
His family confirmed on social media that he had passed away at his home in California early Wednesday morning.
“We know that the world is collectively saddened by the loss of this incredible man,” said the family in a statement.
“He gave so much to us all and was loved by so many. One fan said it best—’It is rare when there is a person who is so universally loved like Tony.'”
Dow was born on April 13, 1945, in Los Angeles, California.
Dow made his big break into show business when he was 12, playing the role of older brother Wally Cleaver in the 1950s sitcom “Leave It To Beaver,” which ran from 1957 to 1963.
His most recent appearance was in the 2003 film “Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star.”
Dow is survived by his wife Lauren, son Christopher, brother Dion and a grandchild.
