Traffic disruptions for Tuesday, May 31
-The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) reports Highway 11 is closed due to downed trees blocking the road. The closure is at Hall Road in Fort Frances and a detour is in place.
-Highway 105 Vermilion Bay closed at Buller Creek. Detour in place. Please see below.
-Vermilion Bay area. Between Highway 647 and Highway 609 Quibell Road-All lanes closed in both directions to big trucks and commercial vehicles. Small vehicles and school buses allowed.
-Flooding Blue Lake Loop Road to Quibell Road. Restricted to local traffic.
-Highway 17, Vermilion Bay, Near Rhyner’s Road. Water remains high in both ditch lines. Reduce speed in the area and use caution.
-Flooding on Highway 605. Both Directions between Highway 17 and Rugby Lake (end of highway). All lanes closed.
-Highway 71, at Maybrun Road. There is water over the road, one lane blocked, traffic control is in place. Please use caution in the area.
-Travel into the Whiteshell Provincial Park, Manitoba is not recommended because of dangerous conditions.
A Flood Warning has been issued for the Winnipeg River and Whiteshell Lakes.
At the same time, there is water over Highway #1 from Falcon Lake to the Ontario/Manitoba boundary, so there may be some delays.
School Bus disruptions for Tuesday May 31
Kenora
KN13 stops on Coker Road and Austin Lake Road north of School Road will be cancelled due to road closures.
KN15 stops on Beggs Road, School Road, and Essex Road north of Hooterville Trail will be cancelled due to road closures.
Red Lake
RL6 – stops on Dupont Drive and Young Street east of Chelsea Street will be cancelled due to conditions on Young Street.
Dryden/Vermilion Bay
VB33, VB34, & VB51 – stops on Highway 105, Highway 609, Quibell Road, and Blue Lake Loop Road will be cancelled due to road conditions and road closures.
DR22 – all stops on Eton Rugby Road (Hwy. 605), Rugby Lake Road, Houde Road, & Stenberg Road will be cancelled due to the closure of Eton Rugby Road (Hwy. 605).
DR21 – all stops on Berglund Road will be cancelled due to the closure of Minnitaki Road South.
DR20 – stops on Glengoland Road will be cancelled due to flooding and road conditions.
Sioux Lookout
SL51 – stops on Sturgeon River Road between Sturgeon Meadows Road and Highway 72 will be cancelled due to road closure.
