Paramedic Services Week is underway across the Kenora District.
The theme for this years campaign is “Faces of Paramedicine”.
Services Board officials stress northwest EMS paramedics provide compassionate, high-quality emergency medical care for those who call 9-1-1, however, many professionals are involved in paramedics delivering the highest level of care.
They add this week is an opportunity to recognize the vital role paramedics play in our health care system and their communities, stressing they are the first point of care in an emergency and are available 24/7, 365 days a year.
KDSB Chief Administrative Officer Henry Wall notes paramedics are “literal lifesavers and versatile problem solvers.”
“As Paramedic Chief I am honoured to celebrate the many “Faces of Paramedicine” during Paramedic Services Week. It’s a time to show our appreciation for our many dedicated paramedics and the critical work they do to keep us and our communities safe and healthy. Our Northwest EMS staff are on the frontlines and have consistently stepped up during serious situations to ensure the well-being of those in need of emergency response,” says Andrew Tickner, Director/Chief of EMS of the KDSB.
