An overwhelming response from northerners to support Ukraine’s military members and those impacted by the Russian invasion.
When the invasion started, Dr. Kostyantyn Bulavintsev, locally known as ‘Dr. Kosta’, with the Red Lake Dental Clinic, and his wife, put out a call for donations to support their home country.
The numbers have been crunched and more than $25,000 was raised.
At the beginning, Dr. Kosta announced he would match all donations, bringing the total to $55,730.
The Bulavintsev family and clinic staff say they are so grateful to the Red Lake community, community of Northwestern Ontario, and out of province contributors.
The money has been donated back to the Ukraine Military as well as several charitable foundations in the country.
