Serena was a straight “A” student, very creative and talented however, she was not able to complete her educational aspirations due to her illness. She had tremendous support from her teacher Cindy Palermo, who organized an art auction to assist Serena in her convalescence period. The family would also like to thank her cousin Deanne Hupfield, who organized the Go Fund Me initiative and to all those who contributed, this support helped her during chemotherapy and radiation sessions and her bone marrow transplant.
Serena had a few very close friends that were there for her during her illness, Kaitlin Yesno, Kaitlin Gibbon, Montana Kapashesit and Alyssa Meekis.
Many of her cousins, especially the Pitchenese Clan supported her during her grief and illness. Serena was loved by her community of Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation. Miigwetch to Chief and Council for all their support during this difficult time.
