The provincial election could officially begin by Tuesday afternoon.
Premier Doug Ford is set to meet with Ontario’s Lieutenant-Governor to dissolve the Ontario Legislature at 2:00.
The election is set for June 2.
So far in the Kenora-Rainy River Riding, there are only three candidates, including Conservative incumbent Greg Rickford, Kelvin Boucher-Chicago from the New Blue Party, and Catherine Kiewning from the Green Party.
The NDP and the Liberals don’t have candidates in place so far.
In Kiiwetinoong, confirmed candidates include NDP incumbent Sol Mamakwa, Pickle Lake Mayor Dwight Monck, who is running for the Conservatives and Suzette Foster of the Green Party.
