The City of Dryden is getting a new Community Splash Park.
The Municipality has received a $230,000 donation from Dryden GM, part of the Beyak Automotive Group, to construct a community Splash Park at Rotary Park, adjacent to the soccer complex.
Nick Beyak says his team is excited to be able to make this contribution to enhance the quality of life for residents of Dryden and notes the Splash Park will meet the needs of all ages and abilities.
The entire project is estimated at roughly $247,000, with the City contributing the remaining portion of the project cost.
Work is expected to start mid-July with the park opening in mid-August.
It will be a 2,800 square foot facility.
Mayor Greg Wilson says, “On behalf of Dryden City Council, staff and the citizens of Dryden, I wish to sincerely thank the Beyak Automotive Group and President Nick Beyak for their vision and generous donation to make the Splash Park a reality for the residents of Dryden.”
Wilson adds it will provide accessible recreation for families and youth while further enhancing Rotary Park.
Chief Administrative Officer Roger Nesbitt says, “Over the past several years, City staff have been approached by multiple residents expressing a desire to see a Splash Park developed in our community.”
Nesbitt adds, “I want to thank Beyak Automotive Group’s Nick Beyak and Tyson Dennis as well as the City’s Community Services Manager, Steve Belanger, for their cooperation and hard work to move this project forward at lightning speed. It really shows what can be accomplished when we are all working together towards a common goal.”
