The Dryden GM Ice Dogs came close to ending Kam River’s 16 game winning streak Sunday night.
The Ice Dogs took the Fighting Walleye to a shootout but couldn’t score in a 3-2 loss on the road.
Jeremy Dunmore scored the lone shootout goal for the win.
Ondrej Bardos opened the scoring for Dryden GM only 57 seconds into the game.
Kam River responded with two of their own in the first.
After a scoreless second, Tristan Takats found the back of the net on the power play midway through the third.
Dryden GM outshot the Fighting Walleye 39-36.
Cole Johnston was in net for the Ice Dogs.
Dryden GM will try again Monday afternoon at 12:30 central.
In Red Lake, it was another easy night for the Miners against Wisconsin.
Red Lake exploded for 8 goals in the second period en route to a 17-4 victory.
Brady Harroun had a 7 point night with 3 goals and 4 assists.
Noah Kramps and Ethan Pool each recorded 3 goals and 3 assists, Jake Parker earned the hat trick, while Jordan Baranesky had 2 goals and 4 assists.
Ryan Hunter notched a pair of goals and captain Ryan Howe added a single.
The win was picked up by Kiev Kineshanko making 25 stops.
The Miners have now picked up points in their last 12 games.
