There’s a new way for Dryden residents to stay informed during emergencies.
City of Dryden Fire Chief Chris Wood tells us about the launch of the new alert system.
“Voyent Alert! is a multi purpose notification service that will be used to communicate important information to our residents. Notifications will be sent for critical events like fire, floods, extreme weather, as well as day to day notifications (sent out by area) if you choose such as road advisories, power outages, public safety notices and community events.”
“We’ve relied on the old evacuation sirens for so long and what they do is they cause panic but don’t really deliver any information,” explains Chief Wood. “This tool will allow us to give you real time information and instructions on what to do in the case of any emergency and deliver it in the way you want it.”
Chief Wood encourages residents to sign up by downloading the app Voyent Alert! or signing up online for free to receive information by text, email or a phone call.
