Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls is the fastest growing community in the region with its population growing by over 28 percent in the last five years.
The town’s population has been pegged at 727 compared to 567 in 2016.
Most communities in the Kenora District saw a decrease in population, except for Sioux Lookout when grew by 10 percent to 5,839 and Machin, which went up 4 percent to 1,012.
As for the Kenora District itself, the population has gone up slightly to 66,000, an increase of 0.7 percent since the last census.
In the previous census, it was at 65,533.
