Dryden Provincial Police have laid multiple charges after a vehicle failed to stop.
Last Monday (February 7) around 11 a.m. officers tried to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 17 west of Ignace.
At first, the vehicle pulled over and stopped for police but then drove off.
The vehicle was abandoned on Bedworth Avenue in the City of Dryden where the driver took off on foot.
A short time later, OPP found and arrested the accused around 12:30 p.m.
As a result, Police say 46 year old Andrew Gillis of Vancouver, British Colombia is charged with the following:
- Dangerous Operation – CC 320.13(1)
- Obstruct Peace Officer – CC 129(a)
- Flight from Peace Officer – CC 320.17
- Operation While Prohibited – CC 320.18(1)(a)
The accused has been held in custody.
