The population of the City of Dryden has gone down in the last five years.
Census data from Statistics Canada says our population is now 7,388, a 4.7% drop compared to the 2016 census.
Sioux Lookout saw significant growth of 10.8%.
The population is up to 5,839. (2016: 5,272)
Machin recorded an increase of 4.2% as the population is 1,012. (2016: 971)
Ignace gained 4 more people and is recording a population of 1,206.
The Township of Ear Falls saw a drop of 7.1%. (2021: 924 2016: 995)
Red Lake recorded a small drop of 0.3%. (2021: 4,094 2016: 4,107)
The population in the Kenora Unorganized area, which goes all the way up to Hudson’s Bay, is put at 7,474, up 783.
Canada’s population is now almost 37 million, an increase of 5.2% from the last census.
