Unionized College faculty in Ontario, including those at Confederation College, is scheduled to vote on their employers’ latest contract offer later this month.
It is to begin February 15 and run to February 17.
The College Employer Council calls the offer on the table a fair one, while the Ontario Public Service Employees Union recommends its members reject it.
Confederation College President Kathleen Lynch says it’s too early to say how the outcome will play out.
“We have no timeline for this other than we know that there’s a vote that we’re putting forward from the management to the faculty directly, and we’ll see what the outcome is,” says Lynch.
Lynch is still hopeful of a negotiated settlement being reached.
The faculty’s previous contract expired at the end of last August.
They are in a legal strike position but are currently only working-to-rule-to-back demands.
