A convoy of truckers protesting vaccine mandates and lockdowns has arrived in northwestern Ontario.
They reached Kenora Tuesday night and are staying at the Kenora Rec. Center.
They were greeted by some residents who held up signs in support of the Freedom Convoy’s cause.
In a Twitter post, the city says it in no way has any affiliation with the convoy and consent was not given for use of municipal property for any of their events.
Meantime, Provincial Police in Dryden and Ignace say they are aware of the truck convoy passing through our region.
Constable Brittany Bembeneck says they are anticipating traffic disruptions.
She adds safety for all those on the Trans-Canada remains their top priority.
The group of transport drivers headed to Ottawa for a peaceful rally Saturday is expected to leave Kenora at 9 this morning (Wednesday) and reach Ignace at noon.
There will be no official stops in Dryden but expect delays on Highway 17 around 10 to 11 o’clock.
