The Kenora District Municipal Association Conference will be held virtually again.
It was supposed to be held later this week in Dryden.
President of KDMA Kevin Kahoot says everyone was looking forward to meeting in person.
“Part of KDMA is being able to showcase municipalities, and that’s why we move it from town to town,” says Kahoot.
“It’s a chance, coming from outside, to able to see what Dryden is about, which is where it was supposed to be held. So that’s a negative downside.”
Kahoot says they had to pivot to an online conference due to the new provincial gathering regulations.
The Mayor of Ear Falls adds that despite going online, they expect a good turnout.
“We haven’t lost any participants in the conference, which is good. We expecting a pretty good showing. I think right now, as far as delegates we’ve got close to 50 I believe that have registered for the conference, which puts us on par for most years.”
The KDMA conference will take place Wednesday and Thursday.
