The Dryden Regional Health Centre is expanding assessment centre services for patients with COVID-19 symptoms.
CORRECTION UPDATE 5:05PM: Those experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 will be able to get assessed by a health care provider.
Health officials say the change is due to increased activity of the virus in the community.
If you are experiencing any mild to moderate symptoms including sore throat, runny nose, cough/barking cough, fever/chills, shortness of breath, decrease in taste/smell, muscle or joint pain or extreme tiredness, call the Assessment Centre at 223-3737 to speak with a health care provider.
A clinician will assess symptoms and provide information on next steps and arrange follow-up or treatment if required.
Those experiencing severe symptoms, including difficulty breathing, should go to the Emergency Department or call 911.
The Assessment Centre is at 40 Goodall Street open Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
It’s recommended that patients call in advance to book an appointment but walk-ins will be accepted.
Those who are eligible for PCR Testing under the updated guidance can book a test through the Assessment Centre by phone, or by emailing assess@drhc.on.ca.
These appointments for PCR testing must be booked in advance.
On December 30th the province announced they would only provide PCR testing for high-risk individuals who are symptomatic and or are at risk of severe illness and individuals who work in high-risk settings.
