There will be some activity in the sky in the Red Lake area Wednesday.
3 Points in Space Media Ltd. in collaboration with Independent First Nations Alliance and ORNGE air ambulance is undertaking drone operations in the vicinity of local aerodromes from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
The planned mission will depart from the Red Lake Airport and once airborne the drone will be flying at 100 feet above ground level until it has departed the Airport control zone.
Once leaving the Red Lake zone, the remotely piloted aircraft will climb to 400 feet above ground level and continue north on Nungessor Road until it reaches a checkpoint in Pikangikum.
The drone will have a chase vehicle following and monitoring its progress throughout the mission.
In the event of an emergency or if traffic issues arise, 3 Points will be able deal with the situation in a timely and efficient manner.
The notice is to advise members of these communities as well as commercial air operators who may be operating in these areas during the time of the mission
