Some financial relief for parents and families who access child care services through the Kenora District Services Board.
The Board is waiving child care fees for the month of December.
This includes full-day, before and after school care and nursery school programs.
KDSB allocated child care fee subsidy funding that was under-utilized due to COVID-19 operation restrictions when programming was not able to operate at full capacity.
“We recognize the stresses and challenges that parents continue to face during the pandemic. This has been a very challenging time for working parents, and the KDSB is cognizant of that
fact. It is our hope that this will help provide some financial relief for parents and families during this trying time. This credit also aligns nicely with the province’s strategy to lower child care costs for families,” says Barry Baltessen, Board Chair of the KDSB.
Guardians will receive a one-time credit through a reduction on January invoices.
Parents will receive direct communication from their operators with final details in the new year.
KDSB is the Services System Manager for all Early Learning and Care Programs throughout the District of Kenora including Licensed Child Care Programs and EarlyON Child and Family Centres.
