The Alzheimer’s Society of Kenora-Rainy River is back with it’s annual holiday fundraiser.
The Treasured Memory Tree Ornament Fundraiser is underway until Christmas Eve, Friday December 24.
“The purchaser, after dedicating it (an ornament), will have the option to place the it on our memory tree at the Alzheimer Society office or take it home for their own tree,” explains Fund Development Coordinator, Shyler Hendrickson.
Ornaments are available for ten dollars in memory of a loved one with funds going towards local programming and services.
“Funds raised stay entirely local and they go towards funding our various programs and services such as our mind and motion programs, our care giver support groups, the music project, our book room and several others.”
Hendrickson continues, “Regardless how near or far we may be from our loved ones, when we reflect on them and their memory they live on in our hearts they’re here with us. That’s really the sentiment behind the ornaments and the fundraiser.
