160 turkeys will fill the bellies of those in need in the Dryden area this Christmas.
Dryden GM with Beyak Automotive Group made the donation to the Dryden Food Bank Thursday.
“This really shows the spirit and generosity of this business and the way that they care for the community,” says Food Bank Manager Al Huckabay. “For us to be able to give turkeys out at Chiertsmas time, and I know they had a difficult time locating all the turkeys this year, but our clients will be blessed because of it.”
Even with the turkey shortage, Trevor Szmon with Beyak Automotive Group says they managed to round up the yearly donation.
“It’s been a tough year for a lot of people, I know Al has said their demand at the food bank is up, we’re grateful that we can contribute to that. Our staff have worked really hard through COVID trying to keep our customers happy, customers dealing with parts shortages, so we’re grateful for our loyal costumers which means we can contribute to the food bank every year.
Szmon adds, “All the staff at Dryden GM, our owner Nick Beyak, all the managers and directors of the Beyak automotive group we’re very happy that we can contribute to the food bank and that everyone has a happy holiday.”
As Christmas Food Hampers are set to be distributed, Huckabay adds shelves are well stocked thanks to overwhelming community support this year.
The virtual CP Holiday Train in support of local food banks is also on tomorrow night.
