The Red Lake Miners are taking the closure of the Cochenour Arena in stride.
The facility has been forced to close for at least 4 to 6 weeks due to ammonia exposure relating to the ice plant chiller.
President Jason Vinet says they don’t have any concerns at this point, noting it’s better to have this problem now and not in May when the team hosts the Dudley-Hewitt Cup.
He stresses the organization has full faith in the Municipality’s ongoing efforts in getting the situation rectified.
Vinet says the team will see some scheduling changes that will see the Miners on the road for the time being until all fixes are implemented in a safe manner.
Red Lake has two more home games scheduled in 2021, December 17 and 18.
